Sporting Injuries

At Brisbane City Physiotherapy, one of our specialities is sports injuries. Since many of our patients enjoy playing sports, whether at an elite level, regular participant or as weekend warriors, we treat a wide range of sports injuries. These injuries include the following:

  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Tennis elbow
  • Golfers elbow
  • Hamstring tears
  • Calf tears
  • Strains
  • Knee injuries
  • Shin pains

Our most common injuries are back and neck pain, as well as sports injuries from weekend players. We not only help to relieve the pain of these injuries, but to heal quickly and learn how to prevent these injuries happening again. Our three physios (Martin, Sandy and Luen) have between them more than 80 years’ experience in the management of sports injuries.

Customised treatments and preventative plans

With expert diagnostic skills, customised treatments and the knowledge and skills to help you recover quickly, you should soon return to your usual activities. Some injuries however, particularly those that have been surgically repaired will take longer to heal. This is to be expected, but with our expert help, you will recover well and be able to resume your chosen sports as soon as possible.

It’s also important to note that some of our clients are sporting enthusiasts who don’t have any injuries. They may have seen their friends or colleagues with an ACL tear for example, and being astute and aware of the injuries they could suffer if they aren’t careful, ask us to create a preventative plan for them.

We offer private treatment rooms and can usually see you the same day you call for an appointment. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your exact needs, and we use both hands-on treatments and manipulations, but we can also use acupuncture and dry-needling if it’s appropriate.
